חיתא

חַיְּיתָא, חַיְּתָאIV m. (חות, cmp. נְחַת a. Syr. חתא pera a. trabs, P. Sm. 1408) pouch, bag. Gitt.45b ח׳ דתפילי a bag containing Tfillin. Ḥull.45a (by play on חייתא life a. bag) וסימניך ח׳ דמתנח ביהוכ׳ and thy sign (to remember which of the two skins is essential for life), the bag in which the cerebrum lies. Keth.93a; B.
